Hello Marit!
First of all, welcome in The Netherlands!
Orienteering in our country is organised by different clubs, that all "have" their own region. The area around the Hague is part of UZO-terrain. {UZO is the name of the club that organises competitions in the provinces Utrecht and ZuidHolland, in the latter The Hague is the major city).
Unfortunately, their is little forrested area that is allowed for orienteering. There's only 1 terrain that we use, which is the area between The Hague and Wassenaar. Most UZO-competitions are held in the centre of the country, near Amersfoort.
As our country is not so large and the number of people involved rather small (some 75 are really active), we meet each other all over the place. We work together in one council, called NOLB.
There's also more accessible terrain with competition in the north (near Meppel), in the centre (near Harderwijk and Arnhem) and the 2 clubs in the south. Look for more info at [http://www.nolb.nl/] and entry for competitions at [http://www.nolb.nl/index.php?option=com_eventlist&view=eventlist&Itemid=98].
Contact for more info is usually made through this forum. Have fun in our forests!
Arthur
